Finally, there is no housekeeping until guests have been there for 3 days and then only upon request. It would be much better to provide individual small refrigerators in the guest rooms. There is a very small central refrigerator for guests to store restaurant leftovers, but it is quite small. Most inns where I have stayed have provided soft drinks always available, and often have snacks as well. There also were no snacks except for a few cookies if guests request them. In addition, the inn provides as much wine as you would like in different varieties, and water, but has no soft drinks. We found our room to be too hot during the day and too cold overnight. I only had a few negatives about this inn: the temperature is centrally controlled by the innkeeper, so guests cannot make temperature adjustments based on their preferences. She makes her own yogurt and granola, which is delicious. She provides a choice of 3 different breakfasts, a light breakfast, a vegetarian breakfast, and a full breakfast with meat included.

The breakfasts look beautiful and taste delicious. She has books with menus of all local restaurants, lists of restaurants with brief descriptions of each of them, information and maps on local hiking trails, etc. The innkeeper has gone to a lot of trouble to anticipate the guests' needs. The inn is historic, so it is not fancy, but it truly has the feel of a historic property, and has very nice decor.
